Can you see it?
A Cloud Workforce ... aka Cloud Staffing is growing into a small, yet powerful thunderhead on the plains of churches, non-profits, small business, and major corporations. Once seen as a tiny segment in the employment spectrum, cloud staffing is growing in demand, not just here in the US ... but globally.
How will this impact you & your organization?
Small "wins" in creating an environment for your team to be remote/virtual ... will help your organization post BIG wins! Here's why: 1) people who work virtually don't stay around long ... if they don't consistently produce, and 2) when you let people work remote from home or a coffee shop ... you are telling them ... "I trust you to get the job done" ... and trust is very powerful capital with your employees ... thus, producing more wins.
How will you learn to work with more "virtual" team members?
What if your organization was full of people more interested in a solid result vs. just punching a time clock? Working with people in a virtual capacity alters the mindset of on-site staff, managers, and leaders ...proving that things can & do get done, on time, and with excellence. In a lot of work environments ... you don't need to be at your desk at a office where you drove to ... to produce.
How will your mind/thinking change working with people who are remote yet deeply connected to your team?
Since the early days of manufacturing in our country ... it has almost been beaten in to us ... the 9 to 5 mentality. What if that was a model for last century? Imagine this with me. What would happen in your organization IF ... people worked more efficiently (doing more in less time), produced more (in terms of results), and levels of communication increased? Would you give your mind permission to think differently then?
These ideas and questions are directed at YOU ... not a faceless organization (church, non-profit, & business) ... but YOU. If you see this as a leader ... what is your next step(s) to create a more virtual work environment? If you are a worker wishing you had an opportunity to work virtually ... what can you do to appropriately push for this?
As is often the case ... change happens with YOU first ... before you can impact other people.
